Meet the Vendor: Judy Eberline - The Hill Antique Market

Meet the Vendor

Judy Eberline, curator of Gypsy Wagon in booth 31A at The Hill Antique Market, is a born rescuer of vintage items, some that may need a little TLC—which is where her wonderful upcycling talents kick in. She offers an eclectic mix of furniture, decor and collectibles.

The Hill Antique Market: How would you describe the vintage items in your space at The Hill Antique Market?
Eberline: I try to bring in interesting, unusual things. My merchandise is a hodgepodge collection from my treasure hunting. Along with furniture, decor and collectibles, I also sell a variety of art—at any given time I might have oil paintings, vintage photographs or textile works. When I rescue pieces, I often upcycle what I can—saving items is important to me.

THAM: Do you have a personal collection?
Eberline: I collect crosses and religious icons, and I have a fun collection of folk art created by outsider artists, aboriginal artists and some well-known makers like Bebo from Tennessee.

THAM: What do you enjoy most about being a vendor?
Eberline: Besides saving things that would otherwise be cast aside, I truly love all my interactions with the customers and other vendors.

THAM: If being a vendor is a side gig, what else are you involved in?
Eberline: I’ve been involved for seven years with a mission that helps formerly homeless vets and families to acquire furniture and household items once they’ve gotten off the streets.

THAM: What’s your favorite feature of The Hill Antique Market?
Eberline: I love the space and atmosphere, and the owners and employees are terrific.
