Did we mention she also creates artistic, one-of-a-kind rosaries from recycled materials and semi-precious stones? They make thoughtful, lovely gifts!
The Hill Antique Market: You have such a wonderful and elegant mix of vintage items. What do you enjoy most when you’re looking for merchandise?
Vucak: I specialize in vintage clothing, but my booth is also a curated selection of other unique, high-quality vintage pieces, such as purses, shoes, jewelry, home accessories and more.
THAM: You also sell unusual, beautiful rosaries, among other jewelry pieces. Tell us about them.
Vucak: All of my rosaries are made of recycled materials with a focus on semi-precious stones. I started making rosaries when my daughter asked me to buy her a Virgin Saints & Angels necklace, which retailed for $300. I decided to make her a similar necklace for a fraction of the price, and I became intrigued in the craft.
THAM: How long have you been selling vintage clothing and accessories, and what inspired you to start your business, Raada Vintage?
Vucak: I’ve been selling on and off for the past six years, selling on Poshmark, Etsy and eBay. The Hill Antique Market is my first storefront location. I spent 40 years of my life in accounting, and I decided it was time to have a little more fun. I’ve always liked to combine vintage and new clothing in my wardrobe, so having a vintage store just came naturally to me.
THAM: What do you enjoy most about being a vendor?
Vucak: Besides saving things that would otherwise be cast aside, I truly love all my interactions with the customers and other vendors.
THAM: Do you have a personal collection?
Vucak: Yes, I collect vintage pearls. It’s hard for me to give them up once I find a beautiful set of vintage pearls.
THAM: What do you enjoy most about The Hill Antique Market?
Vucak: I enjoy the overall vibe of The Hill Antique Market, and of course, the people are so nice and friendly. And the restaurant next door. And Wine Down Wednesdays!
